Exciting Still Life
April 2021 - dates to follow
Still life, sometimes seen as stiff and dusty, needn’t be that way but can become a meditation where colour and detail is enhanced and inspiring. The more you see, the more you see.
This is a chance for in depth study where the focus is on a collection of interesting objects, the way they relate and the way light falls on them, bringing them to life and showing us things and effects, we normally miss in busy daily life. It is said that whatever you fix your attention on, grows.
Here we will get to grips with the magical possibilities that come from deep study, seeing what lies beneath the surface, seeing what it can become, responding and using intense colour and letting it fly!
Another aspect of this workshop is seeing how pure colour can be made stronger by juxtaposition and contrast with neutral earths and greys. We will work in both watercolour and acrylic.
Tutor:- Artist, writer and Specialist Art Teacher Janis Fry.
Janis has a lifetime’s experience of teaching Art. She is an encouraging and inspiring tutor. Able to paint and draw in any media, she is a master of mixed media whose own work is loose and expressive but also well calculated.
